Ummmm

Okay, so, wow. Camp pretty much just blew me away. Overwhelmed is the word I keep coming back to. For those of you that went, you know what I'm talking about. For those that did not, we missed you a lot. I must say, Jr. High students never cease to amaze me. Never, I say it again, never underestimate the passion and drive and spiritual hunger of a Jr. High student.

Also never underestimate the hurt of a Jr. High student. One of the things that I heard back, from students and adults alike, was that they loved the family time. This was a time where we had no agenda. Secretly I thought it would bomb, but the campers loved that we actually asked them about what they thought and then listened to them. Isn't that what we all want, for someone to listen to us?

The evening services were crazy good. I mean crazy good. Here is a break down:
Thursday night - Let God re-write your story.
Friday night - Lose your fear and get out of the boat. Let God heal you from thoughts of suicide. Let God heal that place in your heart where you have been wounded by your father.
Saturday night - Forgive those that have offended or hurt you and let go of the unforgiveness. Come and get filled with the power of the Holy Spirit - he's not weird.
Sunday night - Live your life loud for God and be unashamed.

Now go take on the world!

back up

well, I am so glad for back up plans. Our nurse is moving to Arkansas tomorrow so PTL we have a backup nurse (Yay Lauren!) and it's supposed to rain tomorrow so our inclement weather plan is to do check in inside the hospitality room. Whoever thought of the concept of the backup plan, I salute you!

Fun!

Okay, so I see that some are coming around to take a look periodically, especially since I sent out an email last week saying I posted a new one. So I'm trying to keep this thang on the regular. You are also more than welcome to leave a comment; it sends me an email each time someone does. I encourage you to do so.

BTW, our next fun night is July 13. Come on and hang out with kids because you never know what we have in store! It is definitely not a night off. It is a time to purposely build relationships. It will be a great time to follow up on the relationships you will create at CAMPED!

One more thing, Chris K. will be helping with the CAMPED blog and updating it nightly with updates for the parents and videos from the day. I think we will even have pics up on flickr. I won't give out the addy's for those yet because there is nothing to see yet, but as soon as we have it up I will give you a sneak peek.

Shoot me some ideas for pulling late night pranks at camp, or some stories of stuff you have done in the past...

no amped :(

Okay kids, here's the scoop. AMPED is cancelled this Sunday (June 15) for Father's day, so go call your dad or someone else's dad! Also, no AMPED next week (June 22) because most of us will be at CAMPED! I know, I hear you whimpering if you can't go. The hardest part this year was pulling the trigger and telling kids and or parents we did not have any room left. Honestly, I did not anticipate this problem. We are taking 235 kids. That's a lot more than last year. So next year we will try to plan a little better, but I'm so stoked!

Sr High just got back from their camp last night and boy am I hearing some great things! Sounds like everyone had a blast. Pics are all over Facebook and even some videos. I can't wait to see the videos of the services.

Anyway, I am enjoying the time off this weekend; yesterday was my birthday and today is my 11th wedding anniversary, so I took some time off. Right now I'm chillin in the back yard with my two little girls. Here's some pics. Enjoy!

Wassup?

Well, sorry to say I haven't kept us with this lately. I always feel the need to connect with you guys so I am making an effort to type down some of the things that are happening and we are planning.

Last night was great. I love the fact that we can let our hair down and have some fun every once in a while. The kids had a blast, I had a good response to the message, and there was a great overall feeling in the VIP room. Thanks to all of you that made last night possible. I also had a great set up and tear down crew that made it possible for us to have the inflatables up and running. These guys cam in early and stayed late. You know who you are, and I thank you for it.

Camp is upon us! I will have a separate blog entry on that later...

My previous post was about our summer intern program. I know this hasn't gotten a lot of attention, and since this is our first time doing this, I haven't promoted the heck out of it. Mainly, I know the summer is busy for families, but I want to make sure we stay connected. I also want to give some ownership of the ministry to students. Hopefully we can make this fun and exciting and also give the students something to look forward to each week. If your one of our adult volunteers, feel free to join us antime when we start in July. I know we would love to have you.

Alas, There will be no AMPED for the next two weeks. Next week is Father's day and the week after that we will be at CAMPED. Rest assured, we will resume June 29. Kam will be continuing our series on "God R U There?"

Oh yeah, this makes me laugh, out, loud.
