Okay, so, wow. Camp pretty much just blew me away. Overwhelmed is the word I keep coming back to. For those of you that went, you know what I'm talking about. For those that did not, we missed you a lot. I must say, Jr. High students never cease to amaze me. Never, I say it again, never underestimate the passion and drive and spiritual hunger of a Jr. High student.
Also never underestimate the hurt of a Jr. High student. One of the things that I heard back, from students and adults alike, was that they loved the family time. This was a time where we had no agenda. Secretly I thought it would bomb, but the campers loved that we actually asked them about what they thought and then listened to them. Isn't that what we all want, for someone to listen to us?
The evening services were crazy good. I mean crazy good. Here is a break down:
Thursday night - Let God re-write your story.
Friday night - Lose your fear and get out of the boat. Let God heal you from thoughts of suicide. Let God heal that place in your heart where you have been wounded by your father.
Saturday night - Forgive those that have offended or hurt you and let go of the unforgiveness. Come and get filled with the power of the Holy Spirit - he's not weird.
Sunday night - Live your life loud for God and be unashamed.
Now go take on the world!

I just read your blog about CAMPED and I thought you'd like to know that God did, indeed, heal wounded hearts. Without going into details (because sharing them may mean I stepped over a line without permission), your call for those to "let God heal the place wounded by their fathers" was all one daughter needed to leave the past in the past (finally) and step forward into the future that God has given her with hope and an open heart. Thank You for following the Lord's lead!
